Please confirm that this only works on the Premium motorcycle. I.E. If I buy the Standard version with the 6kw add on charger I won't be able to use your RapidCharge?
If you're talking about a 2020 or 2021 model bike, that is correct. At least at the moment. It's not out of the question to make this possible, but it would require a few things to happen. This mostly has to do with the DJ-RapidCharge firmware, which is currently configured to evenly balance the charge load amongst two stations. I would need to modify/test this code with the 'Standard' charger configuration to change this 50/50 balance to match how power is pulled from the stations. One thing to keep in mind is that it is possible to add another 3kW on-board charger to effectively make your 'Standard' bike have the same charging capability as a 'Premium':
Your dealer should be able to perform this upgrade easily when they are tearing the bike apart to install a Rapid Charger. I figure if you're interested enough in charging rate that you're considering Dual-J charging, you would like to know that it is very possible to upgrade your bike to have the full 12kw charging capability. If you're talking about a 2022 SR/SRS/SRF bike, the situation is a bit different... but just let me know if that's the case and I'll be happy to explain.
